DAY 1

QUITO-TICATILLIN-REFUGIO ”COTOPAXI CARA SUR”

We leave Quito at 11am in an all terrain vehicle. It will take two hours to arrive at a small village called Ticatilin (3200m) here you will have the option of hiking 3-4hours to the cabañas at Rasularca. (This hike is recommended as it gives you a chance to acclimatize and experience the beautiful surroundings of this area), or stay in the car till the cabañas.

After a delicious evening meal, we relax in the typical adobe cabañas.

 

DAY 2

REFUGIO – CABALGATA AL CAMPO ALTO -REFUGIO-QUITO

At 8H00 am, after  breakfast we ride on horses for two hours from the cabañas to base camp, then we walk for one hour to the glaciers,  after  drinking some hot tea, we return to the refuge where we have our last meal before we go back to Quito.
