MORURCO MOUNTAIN TREK - COTOPAXI CARA SUR

MORURCO 1 DAY

QUITO-REFUGIO-CASCADA-REFUGIO-QUITO

We leave Quito at 7h30 am in an all terrain vehicle. It will take two and a half hours to arrive to our refuge Cotopaxi Cara Sur. Here we start the four hours hike to the waterfall, where we start a rappel practice.

 

The return journey to the cabañas will take one and a half or two hours. From here the all terrain vehicle will take you back to Quito. We arrive at about 6 in the afternoon.

MORURCO 2 DAYS

Day 1

QUITO-TICATILIN-RASULARCA (4000M)

We leave Quito at 11am in an all terrain vehicle. It will take two hours to arrive to a small village called Ticatilin (3200m) you will have the option of hiking 3-4 hours to the cabañas at Rasularca. (This hike is recommended as it gives you a chance to acclimatize and experience the beautiful surroundings of this area)

 

After an evening meal, we relax in the typical adobe cabañas.

 

Day 2

RASULARCA-MORURCO (4823M) RASULARCA-QUITO

After breakfast we start the four hour hike to the Morurco Mountain upon which, you will be able to enjoy some of the most stunning views in Ecuador.

The return journey to the cabañas will take one and a half to two hours. From here the all terrain vehicle will take you back to Quito for late evening.

Day 1

REFUGIO – CABALGATA AL CAMPO ALTO -REFUGIO-QUITO

At 8H00 am, after a good breakfast we ride on horses for two hours from the cabañas to base camp, then we walk for one hour to the glaciers,  after  drinking some hot tea, we return to the refuge where we have a delicious meal before we go to bed.

 

DAY 3

RASULARCA-MORURCO (4823M) RASULARCA-QUITO
